Courageous Living

My Story

I spent 20 years in a corporate, commission-based sales and leadership position where I was highly successful and had it all together on the outside. But on the inside, I wrestled with feeling enough despite my achievements, carried the weight of being a guilty mom, and shared my emotional leftovers with the people who deserved the best from me.

During an ugly-cry breakdown on my way to work one morning, I had an epiphany… my stark, overworked, overwhelmed reality did not match the vision I had for my life.

It took me five long years to leave that job and step into something that aligned with the bigger, bolder plan for my life. And it was through courageously doing deep inner work that I discovered I was worth being brave with my life.

Was it easy? No. Was it worth it? Hell yeah!

My biggest leap of faith was leaving my job to serve others through speaking and coaching. I had no plan, no clients, no income, no idea. One thing I had was a name for my company… Full Throttle Living. The other thing I had was agency. I always believe there is a way forward and I will find it.

After trying my hand at solopreneurship, I was blessed to partner with my friend, Paul, to create Elev8 Coaching, which became the leadership arm of what I did. Together, we hosted large leadership conferences, worked with corporate clients, and launched our own leadership program called Leadership U.

In 2015, I lived out my value of courage by riding a motorcycle from New York City to San Francisco on the 100th anniversary of when the first women rode coast-to-coast in 1915. My hope is to inspire the next 100 years of women riders. Watch the documentary

Brené Brown’s work changed my life so I applied to become an ambassador of her work and became a Certified Dare to Lead Facilitator in March 2019. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of leading this courage work all over the country and teaching people how to be daring leaders.

Thanks to another epiphany moment, my work shifted into a lower gear where I created the Braving in the Wilderness Retreat and the Rising Rooted Collective. Instead of large gatherings of people, I created small, more intimate spaces where real change and connection could happen.

I Believe

  • Courage bridges the gap when we don’t have certainty, clarity, confidence, or experience.

  • We’re given opportunities to learn and unlearn, over and over and over.

  • We are all born innately worthy and remembering our worthiness is the way back to our true selves.

  • We need to practice to get it right and keep practicing to never get it wrong (even though we will).

  • Real change is vertical and the roots we plant become the fruits we reap. (h/t Andrea Leda)

  • Standing in your values may be the hardest thing you’ll ever do.

  • The hardest questions can lead to the truest, most transformational, answers.

  • Every one of us has a Divine calling and a responsibility to explore it.

  • Life is an exhilarating ride for those brave enough to climb on.

I Value

  • Courage

  • Faith

  • Trust

  • Purpose

  • Belonging

  • Practice

  • Curiosity

  • Mastery

My hope is that you’ll see these values in everything I do… from my articles, social media posts, and quotes I share, to my workshops, retreats, and programs.
